One Shoulder Trend: How To Rock This Look

The one shoulder look is a hot trend, loved by many, and definitely here to stay. It's a great no-fuss, go-to look when you're short on time, cash or ideas. Here are some tips to help you rock this trend the right way.

How To Wear A One Shoulder Dress

1. Choose a dress that fits your body type well, and is also comfortable. The last thing you want to do is feel awkward or uncomfortable in your outfit.

2. Invest in a good strapless bra. Exposed bra straps is a sure way to spoil the beauty of this look.

3. Avoid wearing a necklace with this look. You already have a lot going on with your neckline, so you'll probably want to keep it simple in that area. Accessorize with eye-catching earrings and a bracelet.

How To Wear A One Shoulder Top

1. The same undergarment rules apply for a one shoulder top so pull out the strapless bra!

2. Be careful not to bear too much skin. Avoid wearing mini-skirts or any other type of very short skirt. You run the risk of looking trashy and you can easily ruin the look this way. Do pair your one sleeve shirt with  jeans, Capri’s or any other type of mid-length skirt.

3. You can pretty much get away with any hairstyle when wearing this trend, although your best look would be to go with an up-do. Not only does it keep the neckline area less busy but it also allows your one sleeve top to be the focal point of your outfit.

If you follow these simple guidelines, you're sure to rock this trend the right way. It's sexy, chic and easy to wear. What more could a girl ask for? Enjoy!

The Do's and Don'ts of Wearing Leggings

Don’t wear leggings that cut off above the knee.

Don’t wear sheer leggings that reveal your undergarments.

Don’t wear leggings with tight shirts. Leggings are very body hugging so you should try to balance out your outfit with loose fitted shirts and avoid drawing attention to places that don't need attention.

Don’t wear leggings with short/cropped tops.

Don’t wear leggings as pants. Leggings should never be worn like pants. Instead, they should be treated like tights.

Don’t be afraid to wear leggings. Perhaps you feel you don’t have the right “size” or “shape” to wear leggings, but that is not true. There are many different style’s and type’s of leggings out there. Don’t be afraid to experiment. Leggings are for everyone.

Do stock up on a lot of classic black leggings--they are the most flattering and easiest to work with.

Do step out of your comfort zone and try gray, red, white or brown leggings as well.

Do wear leggings with sweater dresses.

Do wear leggings with tunics.

Do wear leggings with with flats.

Do wear leggings with skirts or shorts. (Be sure to consider your height and body type).

Do accessorize your leggings with a fitted belt.

Do wear colored, printed or shiny leggings. Just remember that some of these leggings are casual/day wear and others are formal/evening wear.

Do wear knee-high boots, ankle boots, and stiletto’s with your leggings.

Do keep warm with sexy, long cardigans and sweaters.

Do enjoy this delicious trend and rock 'em with total confidence!

How To Make A Homemade Honey Face Mask

Homemade face masks are great; they cost less, are fun to make, and are much healthier for your skin. This honey facial mask is great for all skin types and will leave your skin looking and feeling silky smooth. It’s surprisingly easy to make and only requires a few household ingredients:

1) 1 Raw Egg
2) 2 Tablespoons Of Honey
3) Splash Of Milk
4) 1/2 Pureed Dried Apricots
or 1 tsp Of Vitamin E Oil

Heads up: if you have dry skin make sure you use the egg yolk. If you have normal to oily skin use the egg whites. Once you’ve got all that covered, combine the egg with 2 tbsp of honey and mix. Then add the vitamin E oil, and a splash of milk. (If you use too much milk the consistency of the facial mask will be too liquid, and the mask will not apply properly)

To Apply the Mask:

1. Make sure your face is thoroughly clean. Rinse your face with hot water to open up your pores and then gently pat dry.

2. With your fingers begin applying mask all over your face in a circular motion.

3. Let the mask sit for 10-20 minutes, then rinse with cool water to close pours.

4. After you're done, you can use an acne fighting cream or your regular moisturizer before applying your makeup. You will most definitely love the results and will want to use this every few days. We say, go right ahead...indulge yourself!

Oh and just in case it needs to be said, do NOT use this mask if you are allergic to any of the ingredients!!! There, we said it. Enjoy!

How To Do An Earthy Smokey Eye

Lets face it, Smokey Eyes are pretty much the holy grail of makeup. If you haven't already rocked the look, you've probably already (unsuccessfully) attempted it or maybe haven't yet built up the courage to even try it. If you've been dying to do a smokey eye but aren't sure if you could pull off the look, you've come to the right place. We'll teach you how to do an easy, off-the-runway, earthy smokey eye in just 10 minutes!

1.
Start off with a clean lid and apply a primer to hold everything in place.

2.
Brush on a shimmery bronze eyeshadow and cover your lid completely.

3.
Use a dark brown shadow for you creases, sweeping in a half-moon shape across the top of your eye. Apply a thin line along your bottom lash line. Use a blending brush to blend the colors together.

4.
Bring out some highlights by applying a lighter shade, such as champagne or cream, under the brow and in the corners of your eyes.

5.
Line the top and bottom lashes with either a charcoal or black pencil liner. Blend it in with your shadow brush or gently smudge the liner, carefully working it into the eyeshadow.

6.
Finish it off a few coats of mascara, and voila, Smokey Eye!

3 Easy Steps To Beautiful Waves

So you want perfect volume and waves, well you have come to the right place! Here, we have provided you with 3 easy steps on how to get a perfect head full of volume, and waves. It's extremely simple, and fun, and there's just 3 simple things you'll need:

1) Medium length hair (shoulder or longer)
2) A curling iron (11/2)
3) Hairspray

Step 1

First things first, begin by separating your hair into two sections on each side of your face. Start with one section at a time, working your way from the back to the front. Take 1-2 strands of your hair, and curl your hair outwards with the barrel pointing away from your face. Hold the iron for at least 10 seconds or more depending on the thickness of your hair.

Step 2
Repeat the first step until all of your strands are curled, then shake your curls out by gently running your fingers through your hair. Flip your hair over for more volume.

Step 3
Add some hairspray to make-sure your waves stay put, for some extra volume flip your hair over, and spray at your roots. You can finish it off with a frizz fighting gloss or spray and you're ready to go. Enjoy the waves!

Color Trends For Fall/Winter 2011

Wondering what colors designer's are working with this season and what colors are lighting up the runway? Well, for all you fashionista's, you've come to the right place! Here's a little peep into some of the color trends you'll be seeing this fall, and winter all the way through into next year.

One hot color trend you should be seeing a lot of this season is soft colors. You can basically experiment with all colors you want as long as it has a more subdued tone to it rather than flashy. Flashy and bright tones work for the summer seasons but can look too aggressive, and too loud for the winter. As for bright colors, the fall/winter season is all about incorporating  bright colors into your outfit with accessories only, as in a scarf, a bag, a hat, or boots. Do not let it take over your whole outfit, and do not let it be the main piece. Bright colors should be worn in little details during the fall/winter season's.

Neutral tones for the fall, and winter season are trending this year. The classic black's, and white's. They never go out of style, and are so easy to pair with other colors. Prints are here to stay for another season. Floral prints, and animal prints, you can wear them alone, or you can mix and match different patterns together. You can be bold, and daring with it or you can choose to keep it simple. It's your choice.

Midnight blue, burgundy, and grape are lighting up the runways also this year. Anything from dresses, to shirts, coats, and shoes. They're luxurious colors, and versatile. These colors are great to wear during the day, and can also transition into a more glamorous look for the evening. Don't forget about shiny colors, for special events that need a special kind of outfit, don't be afraid to experiment with sparkling garments. Be tasteful, and never go overboard with it.

Beauty Tips For A Beautiful Complexion

Having and keeping a beautiful, healthy, glowing complexion requires some care. It is an ongoing process that requires quite abit of your attention, but in the end we all know it's worth it! There is nothing like having beautiful healthy skin, here are some easy tips to follow, and you'll be well on your way to beautiful skin.

TIP #1 Cleanse Morning & Night
Firstly, it is important that you keep your skin clean, and cleanse morning and night, because failing to remove your make-up at night gives bacteria a perfect breeding ground, and you're going to wake up with some unwanted pimples. You can wash your face twice at night, once to remove the make-up, and again to cleanse your skin. Knowing your skin type is vital. Whether your skin is oily or dry, find the right products for your skin type.

TIP #2 Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate
Don't forget to exfoliate! You can choose to exfoliate daily or up to 2-3 times a week, whatever works better for your own skin type. Exfoliating your skin removes dead skin cells from your skin thus making it easier to absorb lotions, and creams. If you don't have one on hand, you can make your own, a tablespoon of oatmeal or sugar work's just fine. Remember to always be gentle with your skin as being too rough on your skin can cause soft tissue to break, and that's where bacteria will harbor.

TIP #3 Drink Plenty Of Water, Exercise, Avoid Stress & Take A Multivitamin
Always drink plenty of water. Exercise, avoid stress, and consider taking a multivitamin to ensure you are getting all the proper nutrients. Drinking plenty of water, and keeping a healthy diet is key to having, and keeping a healthy complexion. Be sure to drink 8 glasses of water a day for a beautiful complexion.

TIP #4 Avoid Wearing Foundation As Much As Possible
If you must wear foundation remove it as soon as you get home, the longer you wear it the more you clog your pores. Avoid wearing it, and let your skin breathe as much as possible.

TIP #5 Indulge In A Once-A-Week Facial Treatment Mask
Indulge in a once a week pampering session where you apply an all over mask. You can try making an at-home mask, if you don't have one on hand. Be sure to exfoliate your skin first, then apply the mask all over, and then mositurize.
